Huawei’s Big Data Storage System Breaks Major Benchmark Record
The OceanStor 9000 from Huawei has scored the highest ranking on the SPEC benchmark test for the third year running.
The enterprise data storage specialist announced that its big data storage system had scored at the top of the SPECsfs2008 benchmark, with the 100-node model reaching a total of 5,030,264 operations per second (OPS) in a network file environment. That’s three times better than any existing product in the industry.
An unstructured data sharing resource pool specifically for big data applications, the highly-scalable OceanStor 9000 features fully-symmetric distributed architecture and three-in-one analysis, storage and archiving functions.
"To address the challenges of the era of big data, Huawei will continue to optimise OceanStor 9000 to deliver faster performance, larger capacity, and greater scalability,” said Mr. Ruiqi Fan, President of Huawei's IT storage product line.
He went on to say that Huawei was very proud of the OceanStor 9000’s performance in the SPEC performance test.
Since its launch, the OceanStor 9000 has been deployed successfully in industries as varied as satellite surveying, financial data archiving, metropolitan video surveillance and energy exploration – playing a mission-critical role in each.
